Communication between leads and departments

Many of our problems have been due to poor communication. Sometimes individual leads, and even departments with significant interdependencies would go months without syncing up about specific action items. Sometimes this was fine, but sometimes it would lead to major divergence in art style. One issue that came up was the environment team going too photorealistic without the Art Director's knowledge. By the time it came to his attention, a significant amount of texture work had to be reworked.
