The SOE_Project tileset began as a modest 71 flat tiles to accommodate any number of neighborhood layouts, but it grew to 209 when we decided to add height variants and water borders.

Developing this tileset turned out to be exhausting, not so much because of the quantity of work that went into the creation of such a precise set of assets, but because of the fluid nature of game development. The tileset had to evolve over time, and such incredibly precise assets that must fit together perfectly do not allow for evolution very easily. |
